I did have a baby back in the fall, I swear I did. He is now four months old and just the most delightful creature. He smiles, he rolls over, he sleeps (sometimes), and he is unspeakably precious. However. This blog is not going to chronicle his life, and I apologize to those for whom this may be a disappointment.
I know, I know, I have no privacy on the Internet. I should just get over it. But particularly while this blog remains "anonymous," my primary focus will remain on me: my complicated reproductive history and future, my feelings about my ongoing health issues, and very occasionally, what I'm thinking or feeling about other major issues going on in my life. I want to write about me because I know I have license to do so; if I write about anyone else I want their explicit permission. O is too young for me to ask him and for him to respond, so for that reason I'm doing my best to keep the details of his life private. For a similar statement of purpose, check out this Stirrup Queen post.
I dislike blogging about blogging because, well, 1) it's boring and 2) making big sweeping statements about what my blog is or isn't inevitably invites comparison with people who choose to do things differently. For the record, I love reading about the growth of families and children after their parents have struggled with infertility. I also love reading blogs that have nothing to do with infertility whatsoever - people who write eloquently about their religion, or their job choices, or their exotic travels. Your blog should be whatever you want, and I'm going to do the same with mine. Besides, on the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog. Woof!
So I'm not going to share any pictures of O. Nope. Sorry everybody.
...
Okay fine, if you insist! Just one! And I'll take it down in a few days, I swear! Just for now, feast your eyes on this:
Yeah, I love him lots and lots.
